Victim Relief Ministries
VRM is the newest ministry with which Life Connection has become involved. We are very excited about this ministry due to the endless possibilities we feel this ministry offers to our fellowship to make a difference in someone’s life.

The mission of Victim Relief is to mobilize the faith community to partner with law enforcement agencies, victim service organizations and homeland security to deliver appropriate physical, emotional, and spiritual support to victims of crime, disaster and terrorism.

Because victims’ lives have been shattered and their trust destroyed, they may be harder to reach than someone who has not been victimized. That is why the work of the faith community is so important in Victim Relief Ministries, and that is why the Victim Recovery program of Victim Relief using specially trained individuals is so important. God’s love lived out in the lives of people as they reach out to hurting individuals can make the difference in the healing and recovery of victims. In addition to physical and emotional support, Victims deserve the peace of eternal healing. And as a church responding to their needs, “you will become like a watered garden to them providing waters which do not fail.” (Isaiah 58:11)

Dallas Life Foundation
The story of Dallas LIFE starts with a man named Reverend Robert J. Key, one of the founders of the Union Gospel Mission in 1949. With Dallas’ homeless population growing in the post war years, Reverend Key left UGM to begin establishing the Dallas Rescue Mission. It was this endeavor that would become Dallas LIFE, now the largest homeless shelter in North Texas.

Dallas Rescue Mission opened its doors in 1954 in a small storefront location on Commerce Street. The first location was just a few blocks from the city jail and housed 25 men each night. There, Rev. Key would minister to the men who came to him nightly for shelter and a hot meal. Rev. Key and his volunteers kept the shelter open every night for the next 25 years.

Now a fully thriving independent non-profit organization with a richly blessed history, Dallas LIFE is help and hope for all those we serve.

Pocket Testament League
The Pocket Testament League has, since 1893, motivated Christians to read, carry and share the Word of God. Started as the vision of a teenage girl named Helen Cadbury, The Pocket Testament League provides resources to help believers develop a lifestyle of biblical discipline and personal evangelism. The ministry also encourages people to support others who are sharing their faith, through a unique sponsorship program in which sponsors actually receive feedback from those they sponsor showing how lives are being changed.

Our members have shared more than 110 million Gospels during the history of this Christian outreach ministry, forever changing millions of lives around the world. The ministry is designed to equip Christians who are serious about sharing their faith with others.
